Syd 

is a dance artist from Cadillac, Michigan. They graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 2021, where they had the opportunity to participate in the Miami One Project and perform Concerto by renowned choreographer Lucinda Childs. They went on to attend the University of the Arts before transferring to Grand Valley State University. In 2024, they relocated to New York, where they work as a freelance dancer & choreographer. They have performed works for Celine Bassman, Amina Kolenc, & and Yang Sun and poets. They make geometric work influenced by their experience as a trans, sapphic, transracial adoptee. They have shown their work at Green Lung Studio's "4:15" series, Green Space’s “Fertile Ground” performance series, The School of Contemporary Dance & Thought's "WIP" series and Triskelion Art's "Stage Dive" series. They made their choreographic debut with an evening length work titled "bullshit, ballet" at Green Lung Studio in their DOUBLES series in July 2026. Syd'd evening length work explores their tenious relationship to the colonial structure of ballet.
